Where is the Youth Court for Mississauga and Brampton?
The Courthouse for the Regional Municipality of Peel which includes both Mississauga and Brampton is located at 7755 Hurontario Street in Brampton, Ontario.
The Courthouse is under re-construction with a major addition to the south side. It can be difficult parking and walking around the barriers.
The First Appearance Court for young persons who are out of custody is Courtroom 204 on the second floor. After going through courthouse security, take the elevators to the second floor. Courtroom 204 is halfway down the corridor.
Bail Court for young persons is usually in courtroom 206 which is also near the elevators and the top of the escalator. If your child has been arrested and held for a bail hearing you should first attend at the Duty Counsel Bail Office which is located in Room 111 on the first floor near Courtroom 103. If you are attending Court because you want to be surety to secure your child's release from jail, please attend the duty counsel promptly at 8:30 a.m.
Please expect security at the courthouse similar to an airport. You and your bags will be scanned. Every day someone tries to bring or negligently brings a pocket knife into the courthouse and gets caught. It is most unwise to do so.
There is ample parking if you arrive before 8:45 a.m.. After that parking can be difficult if there is a jury panel in attendance.
